How CBD Oil for Dogs Differs From Other CBD Pet Products 

At their core, all CBD products for dogs and cats function through the same mechanism: the endocannabinoid system. All animals, including dogs and cats, have an ECS, which helps the body maintain balance in several of its most important organs and systems. CBD and Bioavailability 

On its own, CBD has relatively low bioavailability. This means that CBD is not particularly easily absorbed by the body unless it is combined with other ingredients that have a faster rate of absorption. CBD oil drops for dogs and cats work best when combined with healthy fats, since CBD is lipophilic — that is, easily dissolved in fat. While humans are likely to hold a tincture oil under the tongue and, thus, absorb the CBD more quickly, dogs and cats don’t have that ability. So, the CBD from the hemp oil is absorbed into the bloodstream via the digestive tract rather than the lining of the mouth. Given a cat or dog's bioavailability, CBD oil is typically absorbed within a 30-minute window and lasts from 4–6 hours. This is similar to what you can expect from CBD dog treats and other CBD edibles for pets.

Pet sizes span a far greater range than is typical for humans, from an 8-pound cat to 100+ pound Malamutes. Clearly, one CBD dosage size does not fit all. But with a CBD oil tincture, you have an unlimited degree of control over the size of the CBD dosage you’re giving to your pet.
