Why Full-Spectrum CBD Oil?
Our blend includes organic full-spectrum CBD oil, MCT oil, and chamomile oil. All Penelope’s Bloom CBD products are made with full-spectrum CBD oil versus broad spectrum oil because it has more components that truly make it more valuable. Full-spectrum CBD oil includes the leaf, stalk, and seeds of the hemp plant. The final product includes all naturally present cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and fatty acids. Full spectrum oil contains vitamins, essential fats and protein. This is sometimes called the “entourage effect” the idea that every cannabinoids works together to produce a desired effect. Studies have shown full-spectrum CBD has longer lasting effects compared to other oils.
- Cannabinoids – There are more than 100 cannabinoids present in hemp plants; CBD, CBG and many more among them.
- Terpenes – These are responsible for hemp’s fragrance. Terpenes, for the most part, make up the hemp plant’s essential oil. They can also have therapeutic benefits.
- Flavonoids – These are found in all kinds of plants including everyday fruits, vegetables, and more. Like terpenes, flavonoids have been shown to have some therapeutic applications, too.
Our first, the Wild Alaskan Salmon oil has anti-inflammatory properties. Salmon oil is well known for its effect on coat and skin and can support many other common ailments experienced by cats. It contains Omega-3 fatty acids that help produce natural oils in the pet’s body necessary to maintain healthy life. In addition, salmon oil may improve the activity of the digestive system, encourage the production of collagen, and reduce the probability of allergic reactions. Salmon oil is also recommended for brain development, cognitive function, fighting dementia, supports slowing tumor growth, and reducing of inflammation.
Our second powerful ingredient is Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) Oil, also known as coconut oil. Coconut oil comes from the meat of coconuts harvested form the coconut palm. Coconut oil consists of at least 90% of saturated “good “ fats which provide many benefits and are a source of fuel and energy. MCTs provide an additional source of anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.
Our third and most important ingredient is organic, full spectrum CBD. This form of CBD oil captures all the fatty acids, cannabinoids (like CBN, CBG, and .03% or less THC), terpenes, and flavonoids that exist naturally in the hemp plant.

CBD OIL FOR PETS FAQ
If your pet is tolerant of handling, you may administer CBD oil directly to the gums via the provided eyedropper dispenser. However, if your pet won’t stay still for this method, it is also effective to mix the desired dose of CBD pet oil with a meal or a snack. Due to CBD’s lipophilic nature, CBD oils for pets are absorbed more effectively if your pet has eaten something. For best effectiveness, we do not recommend giving your pet CBD oil on an empty stomach.
We recommend starting your dog or pet off slowly, with half the suggested CBD oil serving. This way you can gauge how the CBD affects your pet. CBD tinctures make it easy to increase their dosage slightly every day until you find the dosage that’s just right for your pet’s needs.
Yes. Dogs and other pets can take CBD oil daily, if they need it. CBD also can be administered on an occasional basis if that suits your pet’s individual needs. Though CBD oil is safe for dogs and cats, we strongly recommend you stick to our recommended dosage. Side effects for CBD are rare, but generally occur because the dog or pet has taken more than the recommended dosage. So, if you have a CBD product like treats, make sure they’re stored where your dog can’t get to them.
CBD is known to inhibit cytochrome P450 and may interfere with metabolizing other drugs. If your pet is currently on medications, we advise speaking with your veterinarian before giving your pet CBD. In most cases, interactions are medically insignificant. Nevertheless, consulting with your veterinarian before beginning any new health supplement is always a good idea.
We advise against using human-intended CBD oils for your pets for a few reasons. For one, our CBD oils for pets are formulated specifically for their bodies and digestive systems. Many CBD oils contain other supplemental ingredients, and not everything humans consume is safe for pets, or safe at the dosages meant for humans. We also tailor the CBD strength of our products to be appropriate for your pet’s size. Rest assured, all of our pet CBD products at Penelope’s Bloom are made with the same quality and attention to safety as the best CBD products made for human consumption.
